mise-en-scene

Mis-en-scene means everything within a frame. for example, lighting, costumes, facial expressions and composition. It makes a scene a lot better. Like in the first scene of jaws low lighting suggests that something bad will happen, also the couple sitting outside the campfire find an isolated beach away from the rest of the group, which creates a scary affect suggesting something bad is going to happen. Also the calm water when the girl jumps in the sea creates a huge suspense. Then when the shark does come the music makes the scene more scarier and the sea level camera makes the girl look even more venerable then what she actually is. The sharks point of view also shows the terror and movement of struggle the girl is creating. Then the sun sets which suggests the end of her life.

exorcist...

In the exorcist attic scene all of the camera angles work together really well. There is a lot of suspense and mystery. There is no music so you can hear the sounds the women hears, for example, the creaking floor boards the crash of the ladders and the falling objects in the attic, no music makes the suspense larger. The exorcist is good for how well the genetic elements work together. For example, its pitch black. in the attic, the lights don't work, its a isolated young women  and its in the attic, very stereotypical. The Title of the film also implies something bad is going to happen. She is filmed from above that makes her look weak and vulnerable then she is filmed from behind that makes it look like she is being followed. The candle light makes shadows so you don't have a clear view on what is around her.

My favourite film...

My favourite films are the star wars films. They have always been my favourite films especially when I was younger, I was obsessed with it. I had all the toys, Lego and posters. The films have always been full of mystery, adventure and action. Also it is an ideal film for all ages and gender. The characters and settings are really good.
